Because it's just easy!
In order to facilitate the construction of your boat even further, there is now the hull passage, which serves as a seal for the steven pipe at the same time. Due to the installation, the strut can later be adjusted more easily horizontally and a clean and dense passage from the strut into the fuselage is ensured. Especially because brass is by itself a "greasy" material (tin content) and therefore compounds with epoxy resin can be difficult.

Good to know!
The installation is generally as deep as possible in the V of the hull and is glued with polymer adhesive. In case of damage (collision with driftwood, fish ...) no longer has the brass tube laboriously removed from the hull, but can be easily removed through the passage and renewed.
