High, flat, large or small?
There are two types of air scoops for the original racing boats. Flat air scoops have a small resistance, but there is a risk of incomming splash water over the air scoop in the intake of the engine. Therefore, with flat air ducts a so-called airbox is used, which separates the water from the air. As this solution requires a lot of space in the engine compartment, there are alternatively high air scoops. Although these have a high air resistance, but provide plenty of air to the engine without risk of splash water.

For electro Powerboats, our air ducts made of GFK play an optical role only. For gasoline boats, the air scoop ensures sufficient draft. For both solutions, the air scoops are attached with polymer adhesive directly on the deck or the hatch and optionally reinforced with glass fabric.
