Popular classic in new best formAs the successor to our sterndrive, we decided to design a new and improved version of the S6 sterndrive. Bundle Box including:Z-drive 1729-S6Steering 1729-4ASThe improvements at a glance:The body of the Z-drive is no longer made of cast aluminum, but of CNC-milled aluminum 7075The surface is compacted and additionally protected against corrosion and refined by anodizingClosed lubrication with low-viscosity gear grease. Smearing in the boat as in the predecessor is therefore a thing of the pastHelical gears are not pressed, but CNC milled, hardened, ground and therefore much more accurate and robustAll drive shafts are made of stainless steel (V2A). The upper shaft has two bearings, the lower shaft has three bearings and both are sealed by a SimmerringThe output speed is 1:1 Each drive is assembled by hand directly at and by us. A drilling template is also included in the scope of delivery and makes installation easier for you. Good to knowThe drive has a square mount for 6.35mm (1/4") flex shaft. By usage of our flex shaft with square end, the square end needs to be shortened by 13-14mmThe S6 drive can be used for both left and right rotation Suitable for boats from approx. 1200mm (with double drive 1400mm length) Suitable for 50 electric motors max. 32,000 rpm and 26-32cc power Suitable for use with semi-submerged propeller The drive has a Brass- PTFE holder. The peak of the torpedo should be for hulls with steps 2-4mm below keel line for hulls without steps 2-4mm above the keel line for assemblyIf 2 drives are used, the distance between drives should be 82mm for mono boats. For catamaran it depends on the hull itself.   Care instructionsThe drive must be commissioned in water only, as otherwise insufficient cooling can lead to damage to the shaft seal. A black silicone hose as well as syringe are included.The shaft and drive dog are made of stainless steel (V2A).No gears, therefore no limitation in the choice of motors. The motor and outboard are connected directly in the boat, using the classic flex shaft and collet coupling.New, updatet hood designEach drive is assembled by hand at our factory.Good to know The drive has a flex shaft mount for a 4.75 mm (3/16) flex shaft. The outboard motor can be used for both left and right rotation, depending on the flex shaft used. Suitable for boats from approximately 1000mm. Suitable for 30 and 40 series electric motors.Suitable for use with semi-submerged propellers.If 2 drives are used, the distance between drives should be 82mm for mono boats.
